Anime Real Life Counterpart Masterlist!

So, this is the list of all the animes I’ve seen that were based upon specific towns. For now I’ll put down two, but I’ll add as I go on.

1. “The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya”: Nishinomiya in Hyogo, Japan

This blog post (http://infinitemirai.wordpress.com/2012/04/27/nishinomiya-hyogo-home-of-the-melancholy-of-suzumiya-haruhi/) has a lot of awesome comparative pictures!

2. “Ano Hana”: Chichibu in Saitama, Japan

“Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance”: Traverse Town~(Strasbourg, France–in Christmastime!)

So, as I was perusing French universities when I was thinking of transferring (now I’m just studying abroad there, but I digress…), I came across Strasbourg. I was struck by how much it reminded me of Traverse Town in Kingdom Hearts 3D!

Here is Traverse Town (first district):

And here is Strasbourg~!

From what I’ve seen, Strasbourg is a pretty cool city! It’s right near the German border, so it’s a mix of French and German culture. I almost applied to the university there as my first choice, but alas I have chosen to go instead to Aix-en-Provence (one of these days XD)

Thanks for reading! ^.^

“Final Fantasy X”: The Farplane~(Gullfoss Waterfall, s. Iceland)

This is the farplane in FFX (not the best quality, sorry)

THIS, below, is Gullfoss. It is, perhaps, the most famous waterfall in Iceland.

Introduction

Hello, I just wanted to write a post introducing what I’d like to show on this blog!:)

There are so many beautiful, magical places in fiction (whether it be books, anime, video games, etc.) that I would like to find that in our world. Basically, if I find a photo in my research (too poor to travel there myself at the moment T.T) then I’ll upload it on here in hopes that I, and fellow readers, will someday be able to travel there and experience a piece of their world in real life.

Well, there you have it! As an example, I’ll upload my first post forthwith!
Thank you for reading~ 🙂
